
In this weeks episode Craig Gauvreasu joins us all the way from Canada. Craig speaks about leadership, his experiences in the safety field, at the sharp edge, and about making safety personal. Open, honest and frank, Craig pulls no punches in how he sees safety.
Craig is a Safety Professional veteran, with over 30 years experience under his belt. Craig is a freelance safety leadership writer / speaker and consultant higly experienced in oil and gas.
Craig Gauvreau is a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) with nearly 30 years experience in industrial health & safety. Craig began his career in the Canadian Armed Forces and served as Sergeant in the Infantry. One of his roles was a mountaineering instructor which lead to teaching fall protection and rope rescue in industry. Now as a health and safety leader in the energy and construction industries his no-nonsense leadership and genuine care for his fellow workers enables him to cut to the heart of an issue and move safety beyond rules and procedures.
Craig makes safety personal. Some of his mantras are Be your brother & sisters keeper, safety is about people not rules and compliance, there are lies, damn lies and then there are safety stats. stop using stats in your safety messages to the workforce.
His new book, Influence: It's Leadership and Safety at the Sharp End, has recently been publish. It is evidence that doing safety a little differently can have lasting and sustainable impact.
